181 South Walnut Street, Hagerstown, Maryland
Moving on to the next step ...
More crush and run was added to the site.
Footers for the pad and the sidewalk were built.
And then the waiting game began with the weather ...
we didn't think the rain would ever stop.
Phase IV - Sidewalk and Pad
August 15, 2018

Rebar had been placed inside pad and sidewalk frame.
. . .
Monument piece footers are wrapped to allow expansion.
. . .
Concrete is wheelbarrowed to sidewalk area.

Sidewalk is skimmed to smooth out.
. . .
Wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow
is filled,
rolled to area, and dumped.

Like a
puzzle . . .
section by section . . .
is strategically
filled with concrete.

After a sizable section
has been filled with concrete, comes the daunting task
of smoothing out the finish.

Sealant has been applied
. . .
now we wait
~ ~ ~
so that time
can cure
the concrete.
. . .
When dry, the sidewalk and pad will match the monument footer pieces in color.
Watch for our next phase!
