On a beautiful autumn day,
Air Force Veteran Howard Whittington addresses those in attendance
at the Vietnam Monument, enlightening us on his time
in security at a weapons storage area.
It is evident that the time
our men and women spent
serving in the military
those many years ago
still influence their lives today
Laying of the wreaths -
honoring those who gave their all.
A 21 gun volley and the playing of taps.
The reading of the names of the 17 men
from Washington County are read
one by one,
as a bell tolls for each soldier.

We thank all who came to pay
homage to our Veterans.
We thank our elected officials who took time out of their day to attend
our ceremony -
County Commissioner Randy Wagner,
Sheriff Brian Albert and his wife,
and Commissioner Jeff Cline.
Most importantly we thank you,
our Veterans, our unsung heroes.

Thank you for your service ...
for the sacrifices you made.
We will remember ... always.
